EVO ICL in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

Convenient and Lasting Solution for Nearsightedness and Astigmatism

If you are too nearsighted for LASIK or PRK, the EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) may be a better option for you. This newer generation of ICL can treat nearsightedness (myopia) as well as astigmatism, if needed. In a sense, the EVO ICL is an FDA-approved implantable contact lens, which is offered as an option for vision improvement at the Key-Whitman Dallas office. One benefit to patients is that the EVO ICL does not require laser iridotomy to work.

If you are looking for long-term options to enjoy clear vision, our doctors can perform a thorough assessment of your situation to determine whether the EVO ICL can help you. We are dedicated to your health and the improvement of your vision. To make our procedures more accessible, we offer financing options. ICL is an elective procedure, so is never covered by insurance.

If you have been told, LASIK isn’t an option because your correction is too severe or because you don’t have enough cornea tissue to treat, Contact Key-Whitman Eye Center today at (214) 220-3937 to schedule an EVO ICL consultation.

Who Is a Good Candidate for EVO ICL?

Evo ICL can treat myopia and myopic astigmatism. Candidates should:

  • Have had a stable prescription for at least a year
  • Have no history of glaucoma, iritis, or diabetic eye disease
  • Have healthy eyes, with the exception of being nearsighted or having astigmatism

What Are the Benefits of EVO ICL?

Previous ICL procedures offered many advantages, and the EVO generation takes it to the next level with the following benefits:

  • Fewer preparatory steps than previous ICL surgeries
  • Clear and sharp vision, including at night
  • Can correct even severe nearsightedness
  • Can treat myopia and astigmatism
  • Biocompatible material (Collamer)
  • Effective alternative for those who cannot get laser vision procedures due to thin cornea
  • Quick procedure
  • Offers UV protection

Although EVO ICL is a permanent solution, you may choose to remove your implantable contact lens at any time or to receive an upgrade.

What to Expect When Getting EVO ICL

If our doctors determine that EVO ICL surgery is an appropriate fit for your needs, the preoperative assessment involves measurements of your eyes’ prescription and the space under the surface of your eye where we will place the implantable contact lenses. Our team uses advanced and precise pre-operative scan technology to collect medical data with a high level of accuracy to create your permanent Collamer lenses.

We perform the EVO ICL surgery as an outpatient procedure that usually takes 30 minutes to an hour. Our team uses anesthetic eye drops for your comfort and we make sure your eyes are hydrated after we complete the treatment.

You can expect significant improvement right after the surgery and you generally can return to your normal activities after 24 to 48 hours following the procedure. We may prescribe steroid and antibiotic eye drops for several weeks. Follow-up appointments are scheduled at one day, one week, and one month after your EVO ICL surgery.
