Julio Cesar Albarracin, M.D.

Dr. Albarracin was raised in Corpus Christi, TX. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. He returned to Texas to attend McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He chose to further his training and completed an additional one-year fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Albarracin is committed to providing the highest quality of care and making patients feel comfortable. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of diseases of the cornea including Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy, dry eye, and keratoconus. He is trained in the most advanced techniques of corneal transplantation including endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK/DSAEK). Dr. Albarracin has a particular interest in cataract and refractive surgery and is experienced in LASIK/PRK, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and cutting-edge intraocular lens technologies. As a skilled general ophthalmologist, Dr. Albarracin treats the whole spectrum of eye conditions including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Albarracin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. He is also a native Spanish speaker.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Albarracin enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and running.
