Peter Kishbaugh, O.D. 

Board Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist

Dr. Peter Kishbaugh, OD is a dedicated and compassionate optometrist from Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and with honors for his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Following this, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the distinguished University of Houston College of Optometry. With a strong foundation in ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, and surgical management, Dr. Kishbaugh brings a well-rounded and patient-centered approach to eye care.

Throughout his clinical training at the University of Houston, Dr. Kishbaugh gained extensive experience in diverse settings—from high-volume urban clinics to rural primary care practices. He has worked alongside retinal and oculoplastic surgeons, managed complex ocular conditions, and performed in-office procedures such as Lipiflow treatment, punctal plug insertion, foreign body removal. His rotations included specialties in cornea and contact lenses, pediatrics, binocular vision, and low vision rehabilitation.

Dr. Kishbaugh is recognized for his clinical excellence in ocular disease and ocular surgery co-management, having received multiple Clinical Letters of Excellence and scholarships during his optometric education. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Optometry and the Texas Optometric Association.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kishbaugh is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing basketball, golf and pickleball in his free time. He also loves music, playing the guitar, and traveling with his wonderful wife.
